Anais's participation in the "Grand Prix de Beauvais", a team event, was under consideration on the day. Despite the race profile being in favour of the triathlete - swimming without wetsuit, a difficult cycling section and a flat run course, personal problems that affected the athlete conditionned her concentration and consequently, her performance. Anais was present at the start, but mentally absent during the competition. Even with this drawback, Anais's team - Brive Limousin Triathlon, BLT, got 3rdplace in the event classification, being now 2nd in the overall 2008 women's ranking. |

The 2nd event of the 2008 French Triathlon Grand Prix took place in the famous Hippodrome of Longchamp and the swimming course in the Seine river.
Anaïs raced representing her french team, the Brive Limousin Triathlon, BLT. BLT was represented by 5 athletes, Anaïs (POR), Emmie Chariaryon (FR), Jessica Towl (GBR), Kelly Bruce (NZ) and Lea Duchamp (FR). The teams final position and score was determined by the arrival at the finish line of its first 3 athletes. BLT did not perform as well as hoped in swimming. The choice of the pontoon prooved to be not a good one, having in mind that the triathletes swam the first 150 meters in “whirlpool”. Nevertheless, the BLT team overcame its poor performance in swimming completing an impressive comeback during the run and the cycle courses to secure the highest spot on the podium ever in its history. Anaïs arrived 14th. |
